Bookmarks help you display the most important and relevant resouces across all your team member’s browser new tabs. Bookmarks can be accessed from your browser new tab in two different ways:
Pinned bookmarks are high-orger bookmarks. They are displayed on the right side of your new tab. Admins can add at most 10 Pinned Bookmarks. See here how to create new pinned bookmark
When clicked a pinned bookmark opens in the same browser window.
Pinned bookmarks are available across all three Sametab Themes. This is how they look like in each variation:
Google Chrome Theme
In the Chrome Theme pinned bookmarks are displayed below the Google Search instead of the user’s most frequently visited websites.
We know that 10 bookmarks can’t be enough for you. That’s why we create an easy-to-use use sarch to search across thousands of bookmarks. When you create a new searchable company bookmark you should add:
display name. The keyword people will search for to get to that resource
URL. The URL tied the content resource.
display description. This is what people will use to understand at glance what the resource is all about. Make sure you make it’s very meaningful and spare your users some clicks.
To make bookmarks more reconizable Sametab will automatically add a custom icon for each bookmark.
Tip! Pinned bookmarks can also be found in the search but they won’t have any description attached to.
Google Chrome Theme
The bookmark search isn’t supported in the Google Chrome Theme. The search in the Google Chrome theme will perform a standard web search in Google.
To make our search even more comphrenesive and useful to all Sametab users we made personal bookmarks in your browser also searchable. That doesn’t mean that personal bookmarks will be widley accissble from other’s people search. Personal bookmarks will remain private and personal to each user.
Local bookmarks will be easy to distinguish from all other types of bookmarks since we explicitly say “Source: your local bookmark”. If you want to add a new bookmark to your Sametab search, just add a new Chrome bookmark and it will be immediately avaible from your Sametab search.
